About
Background
Smriti Hakkarinen began her training in Piano Technology at North Bennett Street School. She went on to apprentice at the prestigious Aspen Music Festival and then continued her education by training at the Boesendorfer factory in Wiener Neustadt, Austria.
Smriti's diverse training has given her experience in concert work, recordings and rebuilding. She is a dedicated aural tuner and continues to tune entirely by ear.
Current Work
Smriti is currently Head Technician at the Clarice Smith Center for Performing Arts (University of Maryland), and Assistant Head Technician at the Kennedy Center.
She has tuned for luminaries such as Andrea Bocelli, Renee Fleming, Sheryl Crow, Conrad Tao, Brad Mehldau, and Michelle Cann to name a few.
